Black soap can treat problems on all kinds of skin, including the dry and rough, oily, and moderate skins. Beneficial for skin diseases.
Black soap is useful for reducing discomfort that associated with skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema delays aging on the surface. Regular use of black soap helps to remove facial lines that are mostly early signs of aging.
Thus black soap can be used to delaying the aging of the skin.
African traditional black soap is one of the most beneficial yet unheard of soaps you will ever find.
It was made from dried plantain skins, palm leaves, cocoa pod powder, and kernel oil for an all-natural cleansing process. Plantains skins are primarily what make this soap so useful. Plantain is a fruit that grows in Africa & South America that looks like a banana, except it is much larger and tastes altogether different. You can find plantains at many ethnic or international grocery stores. It is a natural source of vitamins A, E, and iron oxides. When black soap is made, the plantain’s skin is gingerly dried to a detailed texture under the sun. The afterward, it is roasted in a clay oven. The heat must be constant to achieve the perfect brownish black color, texture & smell. After that, cocoa pod powder is added. Cocoa pod is the shell of the cocoa fruit and has natural healing properties.
African black soap is soft with an unique shape.
It has a delicate texture and a natural, earthy smell. It is not oily and can be used for hands, face, body, and hair. It is most commonly found in Ghana; however, other countries have their versions of black soap. Other words for black soap are Aleta Samina, Anago Samina, which comes from the Two languages in northern Ghana.
African Black Soap is hand-made in West Africa.
The aroma and deep rich color result from the CENTURIES OLD extraction process that blends the incredible ingredients and produces the FINEST SKIN CLEANSER. Black soap is also known as African Black Soap and is referred to as ABS. It is an excellent cleanser composed of numerous soothing and beneficial ingredients that are abundantly found in nature. Although these ingredients are found all through the world, ABS is traditionally made by hand in Africa. Research has revealed that black soaps might contain many different ingredients. The majority of black soaps contain various oils, like coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter. They also have ashes from different plants, like shea tree bark, banana trees, cocoa pods, and plantain leaves.
For some users, the raw black soap dries out the skin.
Other types of black soap that include shea butter or another moisturizing ingredient in the formula will probably be better for you if you have dry skin.
If it’s drying out your skin, try using less.
A little goes a long way and using too much soap will be drying to already parched skin.
If you have sensitive or dry skin start out by using it only once a day.
Be sure to use a moisturizer or hydrating serum or oil afterward, especially if your skin tends to be dry and during the winter when cold weather could further dry out the skin.
If you have oily and acne-prone skin, African black soap is a miracle product.
It’s efficient for deep pore cleansing because of its natural exfoliating qualities.
For some oily skin types, it seems to keep the skin hydrated without increasing oil.
Even if you have oily skin, you should moisturize after using black soap
with a non-comedogenic lotion or oil like sweet almond oil and virgin coconut oil.
How does black soap help with acne?
Black soap effectively cleanses the skin. It even completely removes makeup, though you should not use it as an eye makeup remover.
It has natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that deeply yet gently cleanses the skin.
The ash in the soap helps to naturally and gently exfoliate the skin, clearing clogged pores of excess oil, sebum, and debris, without over-drying. This is key since drying the skin too much can trigger more oil and sebum production. The soap also helps to tone the skin and improve its texture over time. It helps clear up old acne spots and even out skin tone all while lifting dead skin.
Besides, black soap provides the proper moisturize balance for the skin. The Shea butter and coconut oil help to smooth and hydrate the skin. Many other black soaps brands available can be too drying. Ours has the right balance of natural ingredients to keep your skin soft and smooth while locking in the moisture. Black soap is great because it can clear acne but is gentle enough for all skin types. We use only the best unrefined Shea butter as it has a higher concentration of skin calming, anti-inflammatory properties.
Additional Tips: Be patient, as black soap can take a few weeks to reach its full effectiveness. Some people may experience a skin purging effect as the soap naturally detoxifies the skin. You may see some breakouts initially that will clear to soft, glowing skin. We’ve made using black soap super easy to use by putting it in liquid form, paste, or even the actual bar. All black soaps are perfect for the face and the entire body! Consider following your cleansing ritual using a light, anti-inflammatory moisturizer, such as natural Aloe Vera. Aloe is great for soothing acne and irritated skin, providing moisture without clogging the pores.
African black soap deep cleanses because of exfoliating properties, so you don’t need to scrub hard.
Avoid rubbing the skin with raw black soap, especially on delicate facial skin.
Lather up the soap in your hands first before putting it on your face.
The soap contains ash granules and other debris that might not dissolve quickly and can scratch and damage the skin.
Can you shower with African black soap?
Directions: Use African Raw Black Soap for showering, bathing, washing your hands, hair, and face. The secret is to use it 2-4 times a day with water as hot as you can tolerate (optional) and a washcloth or loofah to scrub the area. Rinse, and apply unrefined shea butter or natural/organic oil as a moisturizer.
Reactions to African Black Soap
If you break out in a rash or contact dermatitis, discontinue use and consult your dermatologist. If you are latex-allergic, you could have the latex-fruit syndrome and could have a react to the plantain ash in black soap, as well as palm and coconut oil. If you have a chocolate allergy or are sensitive to caffeine, be aware that there could be a high concentration of cocoa pods, which make the ash widely used in the soap.
Before You Toss That Soap
When exposed to the air, black soap (Bar or Paste) can develop a thin white-colored film that is not mold. You might want to cut off a portion of the bar or cut and roll into small balls and place them in a Ziploc bag to make it easier to use daily and keep the white film from developing. If you buy your soap by the pound or bulk, cut off part of the soap and store the rest in a cool, dry place. Leave it wrapped in plastic and then put it in a Ziploc bag.
